One of the best things to do is dust the rug outdoors. Place it in the scorching heat for a few hours to get the germs and dust mites killed.
A fresh crisp rug is always welcome at any home. A wet sponge dipped in soapy solution can be used to wipe away stains off the rug. If you wet the rug too much then it will take too many hours to dry which is not a feasible thing in the monsoons.
